The all natural and cost efficient "cure".
My Problems and Symptoms
“Everyone has an overgrowth of bacteria or viruses clinging to their digestive tract that’s often caused by eating too much food with white flour or white sugar in them as well as the use of antibiotics.” Celery juice targets this.
After eating my way through Australia during my semester abroad, I was feeling the bulge--I mean, if you didn’t eat your way through your country of choice, did you really even go abroad??
Needless to say, after returning home for the summer and normalizing my routine, my digestion was the one thing that refused to bounce back. This occurrence—the upset stomach, bloating, brain fog, lethargy, was KILLING me. I needed to make a change, and I needed it fast.
After speaking with my doctor, he stated that my symptoms were most likely the result of a hidden parasite or an overgrowth of bacteria in my digestive tract and small intestine. YUM. He stated that everyone has an overgrowth of bacteria or viruses clinging to their digestive tract that’s often caused by eating too much food with white flour or white sugar in them as well as the use of antibiotics. I think it’s safe to say that almost everyone’s college diet consists primarily of those three things…
Bacteria and Viruses Feed Our Chronic Illnesses
A study funded by the National Institute of Health found that the human body has an average of five viruses that cause harmful illnesses (Medical News Today). Scientists and doctors are discovering that there are many hidden viruses and bacteria in the body and that they are feeding our chronic symptoms such as acne, brain fog, anxiety, depression, sleeping problems, fatigue, and digestive issues to name a few.
When there is an overgrowth of bad bacteria in our body, it is often located in the intestines, also known as our gut. Our gut bacteria causes our digestion system to suffer and thus our body has difficulty breaking down foods fast enough leading to bloating, stomach pains, and malabsorption of nutrients. When we eat a diet heavy in refined sugar and white flour, we contribute to creating an imbalance of gut bacteria in our bodies because this food feeds the bacteria.
The Game Changer: The Medical Medium
“At age four, Williams, shocked his family when he told them his symptom free grandmother had lung cancer, which medical tests soon confirmed."
I was looking for a solution that would heal the problem in my body, not just clear up the symptoms. I was looking for something I could incorporate into my daily routine during the school year where my symptoms seemed to flare up with the stress of homework and lack of proper nutrition from a college diet and drinking… heavily. This is when I stumbled upon the Medical Medium, Anthony Williams, basically an unreal legend, who was born with the ability to hear from a higher source called “spirit” who provides him with ‘extraordinarily accurate health information that’s far ahead of its time. At age four, Williams, shocked his family when he told them his symptom free grandmother had lung cancer, which medical tests soon confirmed...like I’m sorry how amazing is that. Anthony’s gifts of reading people’s conditions and telling them how to recover their health has earned him the love of millions of people including celebs like Kim Kardashian, Miranda Kerr, Pherell Williams, Novak Djokovic, and Robert De Niro to name a few. But I mean Kim K sold it for me.
Williams’ ordeal is about getting to the root of the ailment, highlighting that antibiotics, pills, and treatments aren’t the remedy for everything. He truly looks to simplicity to rebuild the human body. Many recognize Williams by his preaching of the miraculous benefits of celery juice. Repeat after me. Celery juice. Celery juice. Celery juice.
What Celery Juice Actually Does
At first I was like ‘are you kidding me, celery juice doesn’t have nutrients…not to mention I didn’t really want to drink its 'juice''. Then I read more and learned that celery is an herb that the body needs in order to cure hundreds of chronic illnesses and diseases that lie within. There are salts in celery called iodized salts that literally starve and eliminate bad bacteria. Science has yet to find this out…classic. Iodized salts also chemically neutralize toxins, in other words, make toxins ineffective in the body. To add onto the benefits and the reason as to why I tried juicing in the first place, is that it restores hydrochloric acid and helps the liver produce bile, which are incredibly important for digesting food and killing pathogens. It also strengthens the central nervous system. And for those of you with skin issues, celery juice is your best friend. Psoriasis – gone, eczema – gone, acne – gone, the list goes on…I think I’m in love.
Energy: After having drank celery juice for a week and a half, I felt a boost in energy that carried me throughout my days. This wasn’t an immediate surge like drinking an expresso, but I felt more elevated. I am usually fatigued and tired even after getting a full nights’ rest, so feeling refreshed like this was pretty incredible...after 4 months of drinking it, I wake up almost every morning feeling energized.
Mood: I’m not quite sure how to equate celery juice to having an impact on my mood but throughout drinking it I’ve been feeling more at ease. It was like I inhaled a stress relief remedy. I simply wasn’t as affected by the little things it seemed like.
Detox/ Digestion: In terms of my digestion, during the first few days of juicing, I went to the bathroom a few times…ok a lot of times… because the sodium cluster salts from the celery were purging my body of any bacteria, toxins, and potential old viruses. And I’m not going to lie, it was like a marathon sprint to the bathroom. But this was great because it was a tell-tale sign that my body was detoxing. *I will also note that the medical medium recommends laying off sugar and dairy so I tried to keep this up as well as limiting my gluten intake. I substituted these with products that used rice flour, coconut cheese, and I upped my fresh fruits and vegetable intake.*
Taste: During the first few days, my body took a little time to adjust. I found my lips and tongue tingling a little bit after drinking the juice. At first I was slightly alarmed…could this be an allergic reaction? Was my miracle solution going to end up putting me in the hospital? Or were my taste buds simply refusing pure healthy nutrients? The Medical Medium says when certain foods rid your body of toxins and bacteria, the die off tends to register falsely as physical sensitivities in the body, like in the form of tingling, for example.
How to Juice (cost & time):
· Wash celery with soap and water, cut off and throw away the stock and put celery in the juicer to get 16 oz of juice (about two cups). START SLOW—5 oz for two weeks and then 10 oz for two weeks and keep working your way up. Listen to your body regarding how much you feel you should drink. Drink it on an empty stomach in the morning. Wait 15-30 minutes before eating. That’s it. Don’t add anything to it.
